A proposed building in Thanet, Kent, UK. The building's "final" form has been redrafted a number of times and large amounts of money have been spent. Local feeling is turning against the project and bloggers seem skeptical.
The Grauniad reports that John Kampfner (Who he? - Ed) will be heading up the trust that's overseeing Margate's putative Anthea Turner Centre. Kampfner is a former editor of the News Statesman (Righto - Ed.). Kent County Council were apparently impressed with his 'drive and enthusiasm'. Well he'd better put his foot down if you ask me. So love it or loathe it, you're gonna get it. Probably. So far it's only cost £8m (Turnip Mk I - DNS) + £15m (Turnip Mk II - yet to be built) + £2.5m (bit of a top-up) + £0.75m (road improvements/ruinations to Fart Hill) = £26.25m + VAT. Bargain!
